Burned Alive: An American Story

For the past four or five years, we have watched as America has figuratively and at times literally burned to the ground!

The America that we all know and love has experienced pain and heartbreak, trauma and confusion in its recent history; and in many respects we have experienced a war and a fight for the heart of our nation.

We, along with most of the nations of the earth, shared in the deception of a man made disease, followed by a forced vaccination of the masses and an indoctrination of our belief systems by way of fear tactics and threats of loss by way of segregation.

We have stood by and watched as praying grandmas were arrested and given outrageous sentences and over the top fines after being let into a public building and praying peacefully only because their voice was louder than what evil would want us to hear.  We have ignored the young fathers being sent to prison after agreeing to take a plea deal so that they can be home with their sons and daughters.

We have scanned the channels of our streaming services and cable providers looking for a news outlet that avoids the wars going on all over the world so we can be entertained by the latest sporting event or Hollywood production.

They say that towards the end of many great civilizations, moral decline takes over.  Men become feminine and women decide they don’t need a man. Morals are just a suggestion and truth becomes an option.  The lines of definition become so blurred that our own understanding questions reality.  The 44th president of the United States, Barrack Obama, in a speech at Stanford University, said this, “Understand, it’s not necessary for people to believe this information in order to weaken democratic institutions.  You just have to flood a countries public square with enough raw sewage, you just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing, then citizens no longer know what to believe.”

Isn’t this where we are now?  Men don’t know if they are men or women.  Children don’t know which bathroom they should use and we don’t know if the organic apple at the supermarket is truly organic or if it is really GMO modified.  Truth is no longer truth but “your truth” as Oprah Winfrey told us to “speak your truth” during the height of the “Me Too” Movement during her Golden Globes speech in 2018.

We have traded fact for fiction.  We have replaced journalism with propaganda.

Just this last week, the headlines in America have been about a woman being set on fire in a New York City subway as she slept.  Set on fire by an illegal immigrant that had been deported to his home country of Guatemala during President Trumps administration but crossed back across the open border of the Biden administration sometime over the past 4 years.  Bystanders watched as the man fanned the flames with a shirt.  Video evidence of the event is circulating on the internet from people recording the event on their cell phones rather than putting out the fire.

What have we become as a society when we are more interested in recording a tragedy on our devices rather than rescuing a victim?

Are we toeing the line or are we past the point of no return?

In the words of the famous poem written by Pastor Martin Niemoller,

First they came for the communists
And I did not speak out because I was not a communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out because I was a Socialist.

Then they came for the Unionists
And I did not speak out because I was not a Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not Speak out because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me
And there was no one left to speak out for me.

On November 5th, 2024, America decided that enough was enough.  We as a nation used our vote to speak up before there was no one left to stand for us.  We decided that this great nation would not go down in flames.

Although we were being burned alive, on the verge of implosion, those flames were extinguished with our votes.  The Church, the body of christ, the sons of God, finally stood up and took its authority as a nation founded on Godly principles.

You may remember a speech given by the fictitious President in the movie Independence Day, right before they were about to fight the aliens trying to invade the planet.  “We are fighting for our right to live.  To exist.  And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American Holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice; “We will not go quietly into the night!”  We will not vanish without a fight!  We’re going to live on!”

America made the decision that we would not go down without a fight.

America has been in a fight for survival and as Christians we dodged a bullet.  Just like President Trump was only 1/2 an inch from a different outcome in the attempt on is life this past summer, Christians were only a short distance away from their rights being severely crippled, if not taken away.

The battle we have been in for the survival of our constitutional rights and way of life was on the verge of going the way of the dinosaur.

Instead, America spoke!  She told us that we still value Christian principles. She told us that we do not want men in women’s sports and we don’t want just anyone entering our borders without permission;  But we are not finished.

We must take this opportunity to strengthen our values.  To bring back to the forefront, our christian heritage that made this nation great.

We must take this opportunity to share the Gospel with those that have never heard the good news.  We must use this opportunity to move towards fulfilling the great commission and make disciples as is says in Matthew 28:19.  If we do not, we will find ourselves right back where we were just a few short months ago, fighting for our lives as a nation.

If America burns, who is left?

We have a window as a body of Christ to show the love of Jesus to those who have not heard the good news.  Instead of rejecting those who share a different set of ideas, let us take the time to show those who hate us the truth of the Gospel.  That in spite of their hatred towards Christians, Jesus still loves them and wants to give them peace.
